Lots of us remember our Grandma’s “best” tea towels. Only brought out for special visitors, carefully ironed, folded and proudly displayed in the kitchen. The rules were simple: Never ever use the tea towel. Often there was another one hung on the wall or dresser featuring a calendar.

It’s so sad these wonderful bits of history are stuffed into the back of the linen cupboard forgotten until a “clear out” when they end up at the Op Shop or even in the bin.
